Hello Guys, I just want to share this to all of you. DFA is requiring an Appointment Schedule for their New and Renewal passport applicants. I went to DFA earlier and found out that their Consular Office (the division that handles passport services) transferred to ASEANA Business Park near SM Mall Of Asia in Paranaque. Along with the transfer comes a new passport application system. They no longer cater walk-in applicants, you need an appointment before they process your application.

I don't know to you people but I think this is GREAT, really GREAT! It will lessen the crowd going to the DFA, It will lessen the risk of being fooled by fixers and it will also lessen the chance of applicants going back and forth at the DFA because of problems regarding their application like lack of requirements. Applicants should first have all of their requirements ready before DFA gives them an appointment schedule.

Galing talaga nitong bagong service from DFA. Eto pa, for those who didn't know about the transfer and change of system, like me, who went to DFA today; DFA employees are there, ready with mobile phones, for applicants who want to have an appointment schedule onsite. O diba, who would think that a government agency can be warm and big-hearted like this. Other government agency should follow suit.

I'm telling you guys, if you don't have a passport yet or planning to renew you old one, mag-apply na kayo! This upgrade/change in their system is really the best thing ever that happened to a government agency.

Just call DFA Passport Appointment System (02) 737-1000 or log-on to http://www.epassport.com.ph to get your appointment schedule now.

Two thumbs up to DFA! Peace out!

Hey guys, I received this message on my cell phone a while ago:

Get your NSO Certs the easiest way through the internet via web chat. Just log-in to www.birthcertificates.com.ph or call NSO Birth Cert Delivery (02)737-1111.

I just want to know if someone here has tried the web chat service before. I’ve tried their hotline before and it worked for me, I just want to try their web chat service so I would not be charged NDD rates on my phone bill. So anyone here tried this before? Thanks.

8ix Zenith CE was at the 8layer's Celebration of the Software Freedom Day 2009 at the Systems Plus College Foundation, Angeles, Pampanga, Philippines.

IT Professionals and Faculty Members and even students from Schools and Institutions from Pampanga, Tarlac, Bulacan,. Baguio, Subic and Olongapo appreciated the Asterisk Technology more (which most of us know is another kind of "animal" when it comes to programming) when 8ix Zenith CE was also presented to them.

8ix Zenith CE, the Asterisk-Derived IP Telephony Solution was discussed at the Tech Talks by 8layer's CTO, Meric B. Mara wherein he provided background on the OLD Telephony System to the emergence of the IP Telephony. Features of Asterisk Based and Derived Apps were of course discussed and the benefits that were raised were on cost-reduction, enhancement of communication, applicability and scalibility.

The audience were daunting and very participative that made the discussion livelier and more informative.

Just like other Telephony System (whether IP Based or not), 8ix Zenith definitely has a lot of functionalities and features.... I will not debate on that.

But what i would like to point out and make a big deal out of this forum (for the sake of discussion and clarification) is the question on; do these telephony systems provide the same advantage/ benefit in the same way when one chose to implement 8ix Zenith as your communication platform?

For one to understand my question, one must try to define or come to terms...

How do we say that one solution is advantageous or beneficial to you or your organization?

In actuality advantages and benefits shall vary or maybe different from one company to another or from one IT guy to another for that matter. This particular part or job is the job of one who wishes to implement a telephony system for their organization. That is YOUR assignment. And if you want to discuss this, just drop your notes or discussion points.

Remember, features and/or functionalities are not advantages or benefits.

My first challenge probably is, does your Telephony system give you the benefit on cost savings? And how or why do you say that?

I'll share mine along this discussion point..

Thanks,

Deng
